Gesture drawings are done quickly to capture the direction of movement, the essence, and the shape.

After the gesture drawing helped to create understanding of the basic shape, this quick drawing was done. Notice the looseness of the drawing marks, and the light “searching lines” that were made to help with spatial relationships.
